February 19, 2022 - Service call made to Ernest for GeoThermal not working. I went to the circuit breaker box and reset the breakers for the system. System started working again, with no problems. Since I was leaving or vacation I thought it was appropriate to have the system checked since I already had called for service. Technician arrived and started checking While he was checking I believe that he crossed some wires with his tester and shorted out the Compressor causing a cloud of Freon gas in our downstairs, blown compressor and circuit board, a 3 tripped circuit breakers Ernest would not accept responsibility, apologize or offer any assistance discount in replacing or compressor that they caused to fail. This is a system advertised to last 20 years System was only 14 years old Ernst Installed the system Ernst Maintained the system Bi-Annually I was a Member of the "Ernst Comfort Plan" to ensure: Discounts Peace of Mind Priority Service Lower Utilities Protect Manufacturer's Warranty Increase Comfort To repair the damaged system quote was $5,000 To replace the system was $20,650 I have attached documentation for the last few years showing Ernst inspected and certified the system the last one service was February 1, 2022
