I wish I could leave a 0 star review. **** was very unprofessional and rude when confronted about his faulty product! Do not use this company!

****** is talking about metal building insulation provided thru ** by ****************** The insulation requires the material to have tight side joints when installed. The owner is experiencing condensation at the joints. There is a remedy provided at no charge by Bay Insulation, a special tape to seal the joint. The end user declined to accept the recommended material.

I spent a couple weeks working through design, details and pricing of the structure I need. Upon receiving a final quote I noticed a full page of fine print in contract form which in totality basically waives ANY liability or responsibility whatsoever by strat-o-span for ANYTHING. I called and spoke to ************************* and requested some fair revisions to the document and basically was told no, our way or the highway. A couple examples of the language;1) one clause essentially waives any liability for insufficient design of the structure should it fail due to no fault of the installer, even though the structure is designed BY STRAT O SPAN 2) When placing the order you are required to make a deposit of 50% which in my case was roughly $14k. Per the contract language there is absolutely no obligation for them to return your deposit, EVER, if they cant perform. Everyone is aware of supply chain challenges and longer lead times and they stated **** weeks for delivery. But per the language they refused to modify, they literally could take an indefinite period of time (one year, two years?) to deliver your building and the customer would have no recourse whatsoever and no ability to get their refund returned. Im certain that strat o span would have no intention of ever returning a deposit no matter the circumstances. Anyone who would agree to that language is a fool.3) Language stipulating that if their delivery truck gets stuck, the buyer is responsible to pay for having it pulled out. First off, while I assume this language meant if it got stuck on your property, nevertheless as written could be applied to any location before it even arrives. Regardless, the delivery I presume is being made by a professional truck driver and no one is holding a gun to his head to force him to drive on any surface he doesnt feel is sufficient. Ive been in a senior role in construction for over 40 years and I know from vast experience that this is the drivers responsibility. To place responsibility this on the customer is a fraud.There are several other unfair clauses I could reference but those should be sufficient to make the point. And again when speaking with **** he had absolutely no willingness to compromise on what are clearly unfair clauses and unfair business practices. As noted above Ive been a President of Construction for a National General Contractor for the past 15 years and over 40 years total construction experience. I know contract language very well from that experience and can unequivocally recommend no one do business with an entity that insists on unfair contract language and has no flexibility at all in simply being fair to the other party. From my experience those entities will almost always NOT do the right thing when issues arise. Fortunately I noticed all these things before sending them any money. I recommend avoiding strat o span. If you use them anyway consider yourself forewarned.

In reference to Mr. ****** statements I will answer them as he stated them. All warranties are provided by the manufacturer. As an example on ****************** building the materials are manufactured at Central States Mfg. and all warranties are provided by them. Buildings are designed by ************ for local snow loads and the end user needs to make sure the building complies with that loading. The end user has the option of purchasing engineer stamped plans by an independent engineer to confirm the building's design. The end user is responsible for any fee's if the truck is stuck on the owner's property.

The response doesnt really address the issues I raised. The fact remains this vendor insists on unfair contract language and that almost always means they will not do right by you when issues arise. As a construction professional I would always recommend folks avoid a vendor with that approach.
