      In January I purchased a used Jeep Liberty from Modern Auto. It had ******* miles and came with a 3mo/3000mile powertrain warranty. In March, approximately 200 miles after our warranty had expired because of over mileage, I got 3 check engine lights. P0300, P0304, P0456. After reading about the codes I decided to change spark plugs, coils, and wires. I also replaced the gas cap. The codes went away for a few days but came back when the car began to overheat. I was already disappointed after spending $10,000 for a car that potentially needed more than a tune up, now might not be in driving condition. I left a 1 star ****** review online. A few days later I was called by Modern Auto and asked why I blindsided them with a review but never gave them a chance to make it right. The individual I spoke with claimed he never gave 1 star reviews to anyone before and just couldn't understand why. I said I was outside of my warranty and didn't expect I would have got any help. Meanwhile the Jeep was at a local shop for evaluation. Modern Auto asked me to call them when I found out what was wrong with the Jeep, and I agreed I would. The diagnosis for the Jeep is a blown head gasket / possible cracked head. The mechanic I took it to said he would not do the repair and to take it elsewhere. I called Modern Auto about this and *********** said he would speak with his manager and get back with me. Unfortunately I did receive a call from them today and they stated that because I had changed my spark plugs before they could look at it, there is nothing they could do for me. I feel like this might be retaliation for the poor ****** review that I left. But now I am stuck with and an overpriced used car that will likely cost me a few thousand to repair only 2 months after purchase. Apparently my values do not align with their business model. Buyer beware.

      We purchased our first vehicle from Modern Auto 20 years ago, and have purchased 3 more from them through the years. We have trusted them with all of our service and body shop needs as well. Due to vehicle shortages, we purchased our most recent ***** vehicle from another dealership, but still used Modern Auto for service pertaining to that vehicle. When after only ****** initial miles on the new vehicle the tires were bald, we were told they used the warranty to have them replaced. In October, my husband hit a large buck with our Trax, and the front of our car was destroyed. We trusted the body shop work to Modern Auto. Intitial estimates suggested $3000+ worth of damage, but later estimates added an additional $4000+. After two weeks we picked up the vehicle with the assurance that it was fixed. That was not the case. After the significant accident no alignment had been completed, and now 4.5 months later we have bands showing on the insides of all four tires. I contacted Modern Auto about the tires and have been given the run around, with the blame being put on everyone except Modern Auto. They even suggested we were to blame for not telling them to do the alignment after the accident. As neither my husband or I are mechanics or body work experts, we deferred to their wisdom in how the repair should be managed. Our trust was misplaced. We were even told that if Modern Auto replaced all the tires that went bad, they "would never make any money". We don't want anyone else to put their family's safety at risk, please use caution when trusting your vehicle's care to Modern Auto.
