            My right to secure a rental property was violated by JMS Properties when I applied for a house in *********. The property owner hired JMS to find its tenants. After a discussion with my realtor, he told me the requirements to apply & seek an approval to rent. I acknowledged that I met the requirements and submitted an application with a $65 money order. My credit score is higher than the minimum score JMS required to apply, and I have no criminal record. JMS knowingly hired an outside company to run a background check on me, but the record came back with a disclaimer from ********** stating that "the report does not guarantee the accuracy or truthfulness of the information as to the subject of the investigation and was copied from the public record." After waiting several days for a response to my application, I did not hear back from the Agent *********************** so, I reached out to my realtor for a response. I was told that my app was denied due to my credit. After reviewing my credit score again, I challenged this answer because I exceeded the base credit score JMS required. Later *** responded to my email and said I was denied due to a criminal issue that came back during the background check. I denied having a criminal issue and demanded a copy of the report. I noticed the ********** warning & Infraction which was a civil citation for a moving violation for driving with a cell phone! I immediately informed JMS property management that I wanted a refund of my $65 an apology because their hired company who did a background check did not investigate the civil infraction code, nor did JMS properties verify the infraction was civil not criminal. JMS wrongly assumed the violation was criminal in nature and denied my application, but it was not! Therefore I was not allowed to rent the house I applied for. ******************* refused to offer me an apology & return my $65 application fee as compensation for JMS ************************ to investigate California Civil Codes.

            This is crazy that I see someone has the same experience I had with this slum lord. I lived in the rental from October 2015 until May of 2021. During the almost 6 years of living there only 2 things were fixed which was the water heater that was actually rusted out when I moved in(which the repair company said it should have been replaced 4 years prior) and a washing machine because the motor went out and it was cheaper to get a new one then fix the old ancient one. This property management is a joke. Three different times, they put stress on me to uproot my life and find somewhere else to to live just to turn around and say never mind since they couldn't sell fast enough. But the icing on the cake for me was my 850 deposit . This slum lord basically used my deposit for wear and tear items. I was charged over 260 for a sliding door that covered the washer and dryer when in actuality the glue had come off the wood because it was old. I know there was a small hole in the carpet but they didn't even charge that much for that. I paid 200 dollars to get the unit professionally cleaned and 150 bucks to have the carpet cleaned when they were gonna sale the unit as is anyway. It's people like Joe S***** that make my experience living in Vegas horrible. I lost over 3500 because he wanted to make a bucks on a ****** unit during a pandemic. I also told him about me being on disability but yet and still I was never late on rent the whole time. He has no consideration for people just money and I hope karma comes abundantly to him. I actually had been approved for a home so I needed a extra 30 days and told him I would be willing to pay extra for the time so I didn't miss out on a house since they wanted me to move last minute. He said they couldn't do it. After 6 years really? I ended up missing out on the house I was approved for because he couldn't give me the little extra time. If you are ever in Vegas please please please do not do business with Jms properties!!! They are slum lords and will just take your deposit in the end!
