Thank you for taking the time to speak with us directly yesterday, as a local business your feedback is of the utmost importance to us and
we sincerely care for your experience.
Without going into too many
details, given the confidential nature of your personal tax information, we were able to clarify that our bank product is a three-tiered refund advance, and
it is a bank decision, which refund advance tier will be approved after the
bank application is submitted. Check City is not involved in the underwriting
refund advance approval of ******** Bank and that is disclosed at the time of
tax processing, which is why the bank’s number was provided to you.
The tax preparation fees are
based on the complexity of your tax return and are for the tax preparation
service provided, regardless whether you elect to get your refund through a
bank product or pay upfront and get a direct IRS refund. The bank fee is
a one-time fixed $39.95 fee that applies to any type of bank product and there
is zero interest for any of the three-tier refund advance, you applied for.
Our goal is to be transparent
with our prices, which why the bill is reviewed with our tax customers at the
time of tax preparation and as a courtesy to our customers if the service or
bank fees are not to their satisfaction, they are at no obligation to file with
us, whereas other tax businesses charge retainers.
