This is a formal complaint against contractor *********************** and their contractor ********************************* and owner ***************************. This complaint is specific to extreme delays / lack of work on their part as well as little to no desire for communication and extortion of funds to keep them as my contractor. In May 2022 we experienced a housefire. As part of the rebuild process we met with ******* and agreed to hire *********************** as our contractor. Demolition was completed by August 2022 and work on the rebuild should have begun at that point. Instead we have experienced nothing but waiting from *********************** with little to no communication on their part. Funds were received in October 2022 to begin repairs and since then no work has happened on our house. At the same time in October as funds were disbursed we met with ******* and were told an architect would begin drawing up plans for our home and work would proceed. In December of 2022, after several attempts at follow *** with ******* we were advised that plans were in the process of being drawn up and work should begin by the end of December. We finally received communication from *********************** on January 12, ********************************************************************* order for them to begin working on our home. This is in direct contradiction to what we were told in December. At that point we advised *********************** that we no longer wanted to proceed with them as our contractor due to lack of communication as well as miscommunication on their part as well as de-prioritization of the work and advised that we would like the funds delegated to begin work returned to us.Since that date *********************** has repeatedly delayed reconciling what is owed and returning any funds to us and have repeatedly to the point that they are extorting us by holding my funds hostage in order to keep them on as our contractor.
