I came in yesterday to get an eye exam and a new pair of glasses. The entire process was enjoyable and the staff was very warm and welcoming. Upon arriving, I was promptly greeted by a friendly front desk receptionist that. He checked me in and told me someone would be with me shortly. The doctor was so kind and thorough. You can really tell that he enjoys what he does and I am grateful that I found him! After my exam, I went to the sales floor and I was blown away by the selection that Vision Plus offered. A young lady came out to help me. She made great suggestions and helped find a perfect frame in my price range. She was very patient with me which I appreciated because I was unsure about what I was looking for. She was very knowledgeable about what frame shapes and colors would be suit me. She really went out of her way to help me find something I was comfortable with. I really enjoyed how I didn't feel like she was giving me a sales pitch. She reviewed the options that could be added to my glasses and which options she recommended based on my lifestyle. If I didn't understand something she patiently explained it and really took her time. I could not recommend this place highly enough. As a new resident to Vero, I am so happy that I found this gem!Review from Robin W

I’ve been going to Vision Plus for 8 years and will continue going due to the friendly staff and Dr S**** being knowledgeable and helpful to my vision issues. They have a great selection on glasses and the opticians take good care of you while going through the process of getting your glasses or any needs you may have.Review from KENNETH E.

I WENT INTO VISION PLUS OF VERO BEACH JUST TO ORDER A PAIR OF READING GLASSES. MY DOCTOR SAID I DID NOT NEED DISTANCE VISION CORRECTION AFTER MY CATARACT SURGERY. I SAT DOWN WITH THEIR CONSELOR TO ORDER. SHE SAID THAT THERE WAS ALSO A BIG CHANGE IN MY DISTANCE VISION. I SAID IN THAT CASE, I'D BETTER ORDER A PAIR FOR DISTANCE TOO. I PICKED UP THE DISTANCE PAIR LAST NIGHT AND THERE WAS HARDLY ANY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MY VISION WITHOUT GLASSES. I TOOK THEM BACK THIS MORNING FOR A REFUND. I WAS TOLD THERE ARE NO REFUNDS, THEY WERE VERY UNSYMPATHETIC AND UNBENDING ABOUT THEIR NO REFUND POLICY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR OWN EMPLOYEE WHO CAUSED THIS SITUATION. ALL THEY WOULD OFFER IS TO MAKE ANOTHER PAIR OF READING GLASSES THAT I DID NOT NEED. I WOULD SAY BUYER BEWARE OF THIS FIRM. THEY ALSO DID NOT MENTION THE NO REFUND POLICY UPFRONT WHEN ORDERING THE GLASSES. I CONSIDER THIS A HIGHLY UNETHICAL STANCE AND EXTREMLY UNFRIENDLY TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. TELL THEM UPFRONT IF THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. DON'T MAKE IT A SURPRISE.Review from Kristen P

On 11/24/21 my spouse and I had an eye exam at Vision Plus. We were seen by Dr. **** ******. He was rushing through the exam for both myself and my husband and thus the problems began. When our glasses arrived, neither my husband nor myself could see out of the glasses.everything was very blurry for both of us. I was told I needed distance progressive lenses and that is not the case either. Also the progressive lens lines for my husband were in the wrong place. We did not take the glasses with us that day and were told the manager would contact us for a resolution. We received a call from the manager who was very apologetic and we were offered a redo with another Dr. that would normally seem fair, but since there were so many problems, and she stated that this had happened with other people before, we were not going to accept that offer and asked for the $600 we were out of pocket after insurance coverage. She stated they could not do that because of the progressive lenses on the glasses. I don't need progressive lenses. and I stated that to the Dr originally. My distance vision is clearer than my husbands with his corrective lenses for distance. I understand normal policy procedures and rules, however this was not normal with two prescriptions in error and my husbands glasses made incorrectly. Considering all this, we feel we should be refunded our money so we won't have more out of pocket expense when we go and have a new eye exam and glasses made. The manager also stated that our insurance would be the ones that refuse a refund, however the out of pocket expense was paid to Vision Plus. I hope they do the right thing and issue a refund for our out of pocket costs.Vision Plus Response

There is always two sides to the story. This lady and her husband came into our office for glasses. They came in on a Wednesday when our office was covered by an outside doctor. They saw him and were given prescriptions which they gave to our staff and picked out glasses. They had vision insurance where the glasses were sent to be made ( we don't make the glassesthe insurance lab does). All pricing and co-pays are set by their vision plan. When the glasses were being dispensed, there were issues with vision. Normal procedure is to see the doctor again to recheck the prescription again as sometimes this happens when a person is choosing between lenses during an exam. They did not want to see the original doctor again. Dr *****, the owner of VisionPlus offered to see them at no charge and fix any issues. They refused and wanted a refund.
Because of their vision insurance, we had to make sure their refund was processed properly through their vision plan. We had to also make sure our office would not be penalized as we did everything correctly during the process. Their vision plan concurred on everything we did. These people were then refunded according to their plan.Customer Response

"These people"( us) did nothing wrong. And coming in when there was an "outside Dr" would not make this our fault or our problem. We wouldn't have known he was an "outside Dr" but were told that after being told mistakes were happening. If it were one pair of glasses, it would have been understandable that mistakes happen. But both my glasses and my husband's prescriptions were incorrect. Also, his glasses which were progressive lenses, had the progressive lines in the incorrect place when they came back. It was stated when I called to speak to the manager ********, that they had had problems before, and yes, they did offer to have another eye exam done by another Dr. We were not comfortable with this because the errors were so many. (again which the manager stated has happened before) Our insurance company did not concur with their procedures and gave us the option of seeing another Dr at another place and paying in full for the new exams and glasses.
Our out of pocket expenses to Vision Plus ($600) had nothing to do with insurance. That was for upgraded frames. We simply asked for a refund considering the many errors made from the incorrect prescriptions on two pairs of glasses to the botched lines in my husband's glasses. After my husband spoke to the manager ******** and was told that he could come in and get a refund and that the refund was "pennies compared to the customers they had lost already". I'm sorry that this was such a bad experience. I don't think anyone would be comfortable with these types of mistakes thus the request for a refund. They finally did refund us our out of pocket expenses and we can say thank you for that but there obviously are issues and I hope they can pull it together for future customers.Vision Plus Response

In conclusion, we stand by our original post 100%. Having been in business in the same location for 32 years, we understand what customer service is and also insurance protocols. This couple came in for glasses. We did everything they asked us to do. They were dissatisfied and asked for a refund. They were given a full refund of what they spent and their insurance benefits were reinstated according to their vision plan's protocol. They can go anywhere they want now. End of story. We wish them the best and good luck wherever they go. It is time to move on.
