I was an employee at north 40 in north spokane for the summer of 2020, the same summer my partner gave birth and was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. At the time i worked in two areas and was "required" to construct basic merchandise for customers to buy. I was hired on, in what i'd call a mass hiring, for the season, along with a dozen others, if not more. It took about two months before i realized i was working with high school kids who dont know how to read instructions manuals on building a wheelbarrow properly. It was to the point i had to fix about a third of whatever was built by these fellows. It was only a matter of time before customers would complain about the.. Craftsmanship. Natually i tried to explain to my manager what was happening. "Boys who would rather watch youtube videos on their phones are fucking up out in the yard". Shortly after bringing it up, i was brought into a back office and forced to sign a written repremend stating the shoddy constructuon was of my work. About two weeks later my partner was diagnosed and hospitalised for the night, and when i called my manager to let him know he got into a heated discussion with me needing to make it in that day. Needless to say i stayed with my partner in the hospital, and the next day was fired.
