I was offered an online job with the possibility to make money from data tasks. They paid me for the first two tasks then the third one was for a larger amount and they said I made a mistake and needed to pay a “recovery” amount in order to receive my wages. I was then told there was an additional “recovery” amount that would need to be paid for me to receive my pay. Altogether I paid over $38,000 in recovery fees to receive my wages for $17,000. In the end they said I would receive over $75,000. But then they said I had to prepay 25% in taxes to the IRS (through them) in order to receive my wages. I called the IRS and asked them if this is correct since I know nothing about cryptocurrency and taxes. They said it is most likely a scam. At this point, I quit sending any more money. The “company” maintains this is the way things work.

BEWARE: Fraudulent travel brokerage operating lookalike toll-free phone numbers to impersonate major airlines, breach airline customer support portals, and run unauthorized split charges. I needed urgent assistance modifying international flights for an emergency and obtained 1-800-874-8872 via a response to my search in Google Gemini. This number mimics the official Turkish Airlines customer support line (1-800-874-8875), differing by only the last digit. Telecom records show this toll-free line is provisioned through RespOrg/carrier MAYFAIR COMMUNICATIONS, INC. (800-629-3247)—the same carrier documented in BBB Scam Tracker #878096 for enabling airline impersonation scams. When dialed, the representative ("Marvin," claiming to be based in San Diego, CA) explicitly claimed to represent Turkish Airlines. He concealed that he worked for an independent third party. He requested a one-time verification passcode (OTP) sent to email to gain unauthorized access to our active airline customer support case file, which contained family passports, birth certificates, and medical records. Posing as the passenger, he posted notes directly into the airline's internal ticketing log. He quoted a rebooking cost of $3,873.00, falsely claiming the entire amount was an official airline fare difference that would appear on the credit card statement as "two separate charges because of how the airline billing system processes reissues." Upon checking official electronic ticket receipts directly with the carrier, the actual airline reissue fee was only $873.00. The broker secretly funneled $3,000.00 to an unauthorized merchant account listed as "SMF-LOWCOSTAIR*TK-TKT 858-834-8360 CA." The merchant embedded "TK-TKT" (the airline code) into their descriptor to deceive cardholders. Following a formal bank chargeback, unsolicited calls began coming from 858-392-8606 with caller ID "Smart Fares" (based in San Diego, CA, matching the 858 billing area code). No fee schedule, terms, or broker agreement were ever provided or agreed upon. Formal reports filed with law enforcement, FBI IC3, FTC, and US DOT.

I believe I connected with Book Publishing Department through a social media advertisement. I dialed the number included, and spoke with Jason, who appeared to be the head of the company. He quoted a price of $900 to edit and typeset my manuscript for ebook and print and to provide a cover; I said that figure was utterly beyond my reach, and instead he accepted the $399 I had available, to be paid via credit card. ¶ I was put in touch with Sarah Nelson, who was to be my project manager. Shortly thereafter, I was contacted via email by Jordan Grey, who said that Ms. Nelson had been seriously injured in an auto accident, and that he would be heading up my project. ¶ I filled out a form proposing a cover design and providing back cover copy, and soon afterward I received two serviceable versions. I chose one and requested some changes, which were made. I inquired after Ms. Nelson's progress, but Mr. Grey said she was no longer with the company. ¶ I received a copy of the manuscript; like the one I sent, it was a Microsoft Word file, this one with minor editing. I was not pleased with it: the proposed changes were minor and, worse, produced grammatical and formatting errors that I could not accept. In fact, those formatting errors produced an erroneous table of contents that should have been a clear indicator that something was wrong with the manuscript. Nothing else was said about the editing, and I proceeded to do my own edits. ¶ By this time, I understood that we were in the typesetting phase, and I received a single copy of the manuscript, again a Word file. The formatting errors were still there, and the display type had been changed to a bold version of the text file. I was surprised that Word would be used to produce a typeset book, but assumed that a company with as many books as they said they had processed would know what they were doing. ¶ Where we currently stand: I sent a revised copy of my manuscript, and tried on several occasions to contact Mr. Grey, with no success. ¶ —As I write this, I have just received a text message from Mr. Grey saying that the latest revisions are currently in progress, and that his team is implementing them. He will send the updated manuscript as soon as it is finished.

He had several details about my company, owner name, location, etc. I was suspicious since I had a Century Link Tech at my business a day before and he didn't mention any necessary switch to another technology. I told the individual that I would need to check with my provider to confirm this was necessary and not a scam, and that I thought this call was "fishy" since I had not received any documentation mailed via Century Link informing myself of this change. I called my provider and they let me know it was indeed a scam. They have since put the doc. they wanted me to sign as "in progress" and no longer available to open.

On October 31st, 2026, Monday morning, my Toyota tundra alarm blared while I was parked in the hotel garage at Wayfair in Los Angeles. I reached out to several locksmith companies for assistance and chose the one that provided the most competitive quote. A technician arrived and began working on my vehicle. He managed to disable the alarm, but unfortunately, he couldn’t repair my remote control. When he finished, he presented me with an unexpected $666 invoice, which was significantly higher than the quoted price. To add to my concerns, he demanded payment exclusively in cash or Zelle, which raised immediate red flags. I politely declined to pay and informed him that I would contact someone else. The technician responded with a dismissive remark, “I have your car keys, you need to pay me.” This statement made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe under pressure. I decided to pay using my credit card. However, the technician also took photos of my ID and credit card, which I found highly inappropriate and concerning. Today, I contacted the company’s office and spoke with the manager to report the incident. Instead of addressing my concerns, the manager dismissed them and sided with the technician. This experience has left me feeling violated and concerned about potential fraudulent activity, misconduct, and improper handling of personal information. Given the nature of the incident, I’ve requested that the company provide a refund for the fraudulent charge, remove any photos or copies of my ID and credit card from their records, and conduct a BBB review of their business practices. In order to do a SOP and a VPL seeing as I was unaware of this new request and I am in need of a job I agreed to the $60 for the service. Yes it took me time to pay it because I did have a family emergency hit in the process but never ever did I deny owing it or was I ever willing to pay even after further research. As of today I have heard nothing in regards to a job offer or even job options. I started receiving emails from a female who claimed I owed $60. Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill - Logistics Express Company

A person contacted our business requesting a quote for a large order of 100 custom banners. After agreeing to the product pricing, the individual insisted that we use a specific third-party freight company to ship the order to Hawaii, even though we offered a much less expensive shipping option through our normal carrier. The third-party freight company quoted approximately $4,240 for shipping. The customer insisted on using that company and asked us to include the freight charges in the total invoice. We sent the customer a secure credit-card payment link, but the individual did not want to use the link and instead requested to provide the credit-card information over the phone. After the payment was processed, the actual cardholder contacted our company and advised us that the charge was unauthorized. We immediately reversed the payment and stopped the order before any products were placed into production or any money was paid to the freight company. Based on the circumstances, this appears to have been a stolen-credit-card/freight-forwarding scam in which the scammer intended for our business to collect funds from a fraudulent credit card and then send a portion of those funds to a third-party shipping company selected by the scammer. Warning signs included the unusually large first-time order, insistence on a specific expensive freight company despite cheaper alternatives, refusal to use our secure online payment link, and request to provide credit-card information by phone.

Found a page that lists that as a verified scam from the Better Business Bureau. We’ll see what the credit card does to reverse this.

I told her that they called me and asked what they wanted. She tried to get me to verify the last 4 of my SSN at which time I said first you will tell me what the hell you want to which she responded by hanging up on me. I then googled Kirkland Myer to find out they are a shyster debt collector and figured this was a scam. On further investigation it seems they are indeed a scam. I went to their web site and sent them a cease and desist message and requested verification via postal service for any debt they believe I owe. I own a small ranch and recently purchased a double wide to put on it for a guest house so I'm pretty sure any outstanding debts would have come up during that process less than 6 months ago.

I was searching online for a place to deliver flowers to my best friend for her birthday, same day delivery. I came upon Bloom Flower Delivery, which states the flowers are arranged by local florists and can be delivered same-day if ordered by 3pm. They also advertise a 100% Happiness Guarantee. I ordered the flowers on the morning of 8/31 and paid an additional fee of $5.99 for them to be delivered by 1pm on the same day. I spent just over $85. They were not delivered that day. I attempted emailing their customer service as well as calling their customer service to see where the order was and when it would be delivered. I was given the run-around by email support. I received a phone call from my doctor's office, and when I answered it was BLOOM FLOWER DELIVERY, NOT my doctor! They let me know the issue was being looked into and they would update me as soon as possible. I never received an update. When I called the customer service number from their website on 9/1, I was offered a refund of the $5.99 fee. When I told them I don't think that is a fair refund they offered $10, take it or leave it. I asked for a supervisor and was told none are available, but they would call the floral team and see what they could do. They then offered a $10.99 refund and a $10 coupon for my next order. I let them know I don't think that is fair, and demanded to know when the flowers would be delivered. They informed me their delivery times are between 9am-6pm. They offered to email me a delivery photo when it was completed, which I agreed to. It is now 3pm on 9/2. The flowers have not been delivered. When I called their AI agent said they have been delivered, and when I asked to be transferred to a live agent, I waited in the queue for 10 minutes and then was hung up on before I could speak to anyone. I attempted calling 2 more times and was hung up on before I was even transferred to the queue. I emailed again and was told someone would reach out soon. I let them know if I do not hear back and the flowers are not delivered, I will be disputing the charge with my credit card. I have disputed the charge and heard nothing back from Bloom Flower Delivery.

They’re cheaters and scammers.

A woman called and said that I owed CASHUSA and that if i didn't pay TODAY they were taking me to court and my balance would be higher with legal fees, court costs, etc... I asked for verification of the debt because I do not believe that I owe that and she sent me an email that did not have any of the information i requested. I had requested to know the EXACT DATE the loan was made, the address that was used, VALIDATION that i owed this debt.... NONE of that was provided. She just kept repeating to me on the phone that if i failed to make payment, court proceedings were forthcoming and the amount would be higher. The e-mail contained the following letter.

Bought shoes on line through an ad I found while googling. Product (6 pair of shoes - only 3 I had ordered - the others were in error) REEKED with petroleum and plastic odors. Had to put them in the garage because the odor was so egregious. Tried to return via the [email protected] email - email was returned undeliverable. Called Nordstrom to put a dispute on the transaction of $121.38. Then Nordstrom called me about two fradulent charges from two companies I'd not heard of.tunohealth and luvodeals. Credit card has apparently been breached so Nordstrom is reissuing the card and investigating the disputed transaction. I have provided them with all available order information.
