Online Purchase - Marcoungle Scam
On 2/12/26 I placed an order via a Facebook ad page named "Marcoungle." It was for a smartphone charging cable. It plugs to the bottom of the phone, with an adapter that features two tiny legs that extend outwards and help prop up the phone on its side or in landscape position. I have an older iPhone 12 Pro Max, so I ordered the version with the "lightning" plug. Even if I’m usually extremely careful about companies like these —I’ve been burned before— this place looked legit enough.
For around a month, I would receive emails telling me about the whereabouts of the package. But once it appeared like it was near my hometown, suddenly the package stopped updating its tracking information, exactly one month to the day after I placed my order. After a few weeks, I contacted the "customer support team" at Marcoungle to ask what was going on. They told me not to worry, that they would resend the package. The cable adapter finally arrived on 4/6/2026, and it had a "USB-C" plug as opposed to the Apple "lightning" plug. Now I've lost count of the amount of emails trying to get them to send me the correct item or a refund. They insist that I received exactly what I ordered, even if I send them again and again a copy of the original order form where it states I chose the “lightning” connector option.
Sadly, in the past, I have dealt with what seems to be a mafia of Chinese companies that send you garbage, the wrong item, or nothing at all and then try to haggle you offering a few dollars "as a gift of good faith for the inconvenience." Yesterday they offered me $4.00 on a future purchase at their website; today they offered me $7.00. As if I was ever going to order anything from them again. They won’t admit they sent me the wrong item, they will not offer a replacement (I’m willing to send back the incorrect item… at their expense), and they will not offer me a refund. They continue to give me the runaround. Today I Googled for any information concerning the reviews and reputation of “Marcoungle” and it wasn’t much of a surprise to learn that they have been reported as recurrent scammers.
One thing that is more upsetting, and should have been a warning sign, is that once I placed the order, Facebook’s algorithm started showing me endless companies selling the same item and at lower prices. Since I found this incredibly suspicious, I jotted down some of the names of these companies, and I’m sure this is only a small sample of this scam: Colectale.com, Coincidem, Criterionm, Itfortunate.com, Rationalw.com, Itemmatter.com, Graciousk.com, Zealangel.com, Flowarmth.com, Respectous.com, Curriculumk.com, Continentau.dn11, Coatedfordien, and of course, Temu.com. You can tell that the charger I received, and its packaging, are totally generic and of inferior quality. And now I’m stuck with something I can’t use because it’s not compatible with my iPhone or anything else I have at home.
What scares me the most is not that these people scammed me for almost $30.00… that’s peanuts. What scares me is that they have my basic personal and credit card/payment information. But I’ve learned my lesson. I hope you are able to warn future customers of this "Marcoungle" company along with others like it.
