Was a phone call on my mobile phone. From 986-203-7133 An unrecognizable number to me, so it automatically went to call-screening. I watched as caller identified as “Olivia from Walmart order verification..” exchanged with screening process system. I let it go to VoiceMail, as I had no pending order with Walmart. The following is a transcript of the VM message the caller left - in an AI Voice: "This is Olivia from Walmart order verification. A pre-authorized purchase of $919.45 for a PlayStation 5 and 3-D headset has recently been placed on a Walmart account registered in your name and phone number. If you did not make this purchase press 1 now to cancel the order or immediately call us back on the same number to speak with…" [cutoff, but recording continued in silence for the remainder of 43 seconds]. I did not call back. Did internet search for Walmart pre-authorization scam. Found same description with same message wording in other cases from July 2026, and warnings back to Dec 2025 for this same scam. Have checked my Walmart account. Nothing amiss there. No orders/purchases that I did not make. Reported to the FTC, and now BBB.

I immediately googled the phone number and found this BBB page. I am reporting with hopes that people perpetrating this nonsense are caught and held accountable. I suspected scam immediately but others may believe it and fall victim. This is the first time I've received something like this via mail and it made me wonder. I get scam calls often but never a letter with all this personal info. They didn't have the VIN number which is a little relieving. I'm unsure where their info is coming from. My only link to the vehicle is our State Farm insurance. My name is not on the vehicle title or registration.

Identity Theft - Capital Core Advisors LLC Student Loan Forgiveness Consolidation Phishing and Identity Theft Scam

I was contacted about a student loan forgiveness from Capital Core Advisors. They told me all of my personal information: name, dob, ssn, address, student loan amount, student loan owed, student loan company, they had access to my student loan account, everything. I didn't provide anything besides my card details because everything seemed legit. They ensured me they had access to everything because they worked with Department of Education to forgive loans and they were legit. Capital Core Advisors said under the Big Beautiful Bill they were contacting people for student loan forgiveness. I know student loan is a scam itself and the school (AIU) that I attended taught from YouTube videos which was a scam and why I stopped attending. I already felt as if I don't owe so once I heard everything from Capital Core Advisors, I was excited thinking I didn't have to dispute or go through anything to prove that I don't owe AidVantage. Capital Core Advisors said it takes 90 days for Department of Education to review and approve applications, but ensured me that I would owe more further payments. They put my account in forebearance during that time which made me contact AidVantage because I didn't do it and I was curious as to why and explained to them about the student loan forgiveness. They informed me they think I was scammed. I denied it thinking they'd say anything for a payment especially once Capital Core Advisors informed me not to make another payment or it would disrupt the application process. I was contacted a few times from different numbers and names from what I thought were CSR from Capital Core Advisors updating me on when the application was submitted and other statuses of my application which further lead me to believe it was legit. After 90 days, June 12, 2026, and not hearing anything I filed a dispute with my bank who immediately took the money from Capital Core Advisors and still doing an investigation so I have yet to receive my money back as of July 29, 2026. Capital Core Advisors is a scam, do not fall for it. Somehow accounts have been hacked without warning us and they are not Americans.

I was contacted via text (773-6941044) about a remote administrative assistant job with Capio Bioscience. I was provided a Microsoft Teams link, and I started chatting with Kayla Brown. She conducted a written interview with me, only asking to confirm my name and contact info. She said that my interview would be reviewed and that they would get back to me. After a couple of days, she messaged me again and said they wanted to offer me a job, gave me some details, verified my email address, and said onboarding info would be sent. I was then put in touch with my "Training Supervisor", Jason Corey, who confirmed I received the email and seemed really pushy about me filling everything out ASAP. As I was reviewing the email, it all appeared legit at first look, but as I started diving deeper, something didn't sit right with me. The email came from [email protected], and when I looked at the website for the actual company, their main email address is [email protected], with no "inc" in the name. When you type capiobioscienceinc.com into Google, it redirects to the actual website, which I found is by design from the scammers. I did not proceed any further, and am now reporting them.

I had an extremely frustrating experience with GuruGo. I purchased the program but decided not to use it and requested a refund. I was then told that I couldn’t receive a refund because I hadn’t used the program. When I questioned how that made any sense, customer service repeatedly copied and pasted the same explanation instead of actually addressing my question. According to GuruGo, to even be considered for a refund, customers must actively complete the program, communicate with coaches, document their progress, and submit screenshots. In other words, you’re expected to use the product you don’t want in order to request your money back. That completely defeats the purpose of a satisfaction guarantee in my opinion. What was most disappointing wasn’t just the refund denial—it was the lack of meaningful customer service. Every response ignored the actual question I was asking and simply repeated their policy without explaining the reasoning behind it. If you’re considering purchasing because of the advertised money-back guarantee, read the refund terms very carefully. The guarantee appears to require extensive participation before they’ll even review a refund request. I found the policy misleading and the support experience incredibly frustrating.

The letter came with my name and address stating that my vehicle warranty for the car that I am leasing is running out. There is no address, just Official Business Penalty for Private use $300 Form 9550-WARR. I believe if I was stupid enough to call that money would be involved or the confiscation of my vehicle. My Car just has service at the place I lease from this Monday.
