They never give a bank or company name, and they tell me things like "I have information about your loan request," or "call me at this number to review your personal details to secure a personal loa." When I block the number, they call from a similar number. This is clearly a phishing scam trying to take advantage of desperate people. He asked why I hung up; he had wonderful news for me. He then told me I was a big winner in the Better Homes and Garden sweepstakes and that my name had been drawn in Times Square. He said that it was certainly NOT a scam and that I would be very happy when I got the huge check. He then said it sounded like I did not believe him and I replied that I did not, I get at least 30 scam marketing calls per day, and he was one of them. He finally hung up and did not call back.

I use TikTok often. I believe their advertising has become malicious and extremely inappropriate. Yesterday I was scrolling and got an ad of what looked like a little girls face and the audio was “don’t let my dad find this website with my images”. I was utterly disturbed! Then again today it’s another advertisement with a picture of a girl with a birthday cake and number “14” balloons. The advertisement said “why did you let your dad crack”. Just to be clear “crack” is a term for fornication. I’m really traumatized seeing these advertisements! While human trafficking is rampant and now they are advertising minors taking about sex is horrific. They are obviously not screening advertisements. Not only was it traumatizing to see but I didn’t click on any links at all I was taken to a malicious website unprompted!

This is one of two groups of scammers that tend to call my phone 5-6 times per week. They surely use an app that allows them to call from a different phone number every time, so I realize filing this complaint is likely a huge waste of time, just as is blocking all of the various phone numbers they call from is. They never actually name who they are attempting to reach. In fact, I believe it is ALWAYS a recorded message that they use when they leave a voicemail so that they can knock out as many outgoing calls and messages every day as they possibly can, just waiting for the next person who may be nervous, or simply ignorant that it’s a scam, and ****** **** **** ******* actually do what the message says…call back the number one the caller ID and expose themselves to some sort of scam or trap.
It is obviously fake to anybody who knows what details to look for, but I can see how many people who do not know better could easily fall pray to it.
Here is the voicemail message that they leave (and probably the same thing you may hear if you were to ever answer a call from these losers:

I called the number on the letter & spoke to a Jonah (probably a fake name) and he told me they were going to be working on some streets in my neighborhood & that I needed "Home Warranty" to cover any damages, then I asked him what damages, he said id something goes wrong with your plumbing or electrical you will be stuck paying a $10,000 bill out of your pocket, he was very persistent & said it's nothing against you, but you need to be prepared, I said I don't need a home warranty, I then told him let me research your company "Reliant Home Warranty" because there are a lot of scams going on, if your company proves to be legit & my bank verifies I need it I will call you back. He hesitated & he (Jonah) said you can't call back this offer is for today only, I told him if your company is legit you will let me verify your company & allow me me to call you back. After I hung up with him I called my bank & they said I didn't require a "Home Warranty" for my loan. I looked it up on BBB website and sure enough they were a scam, they were doing the same thing with the same name "Reliant Home Warranty" in other states. He gave me NO specifics which i don't owe anything anyway on past due stuff so I knew it was a scam. But very concerning he new my bank and last 4 of my bank account and my address. I told him to take my name off his calling list and every number associated with my name. He kept calling back 5 times from the number 866-676-1303. I never answered those calls. This is ridiculous they get away with this stuff. I'm very upset and frustrated especially because they leave messages on my son's phone looking for me.

I am looking to adopt another pet and on multiple pet adoption sites, there is this one rescue that uses AI generated images of cats and dogs, called Mutts N Such Rescue. You can go to their website, where if you want to "adopt" one, you fill out an insanely long and invasive questionnaire, they ask for actual photos of your yard/house, and ask for photos of current pets (smart, they'd get a supply of free dogs/cats to tell the AI to use as a template for a new image), pay $250 and specify in the comments of the payment which one you want. Their address is just a PO box which is suspicious, wouldn't a rescue want to list an address people can visit? Why are all of the animals only available for delivery?
I could see someone's tech illiterate parents falling for this scam thinking they're adopting a dog/cat from a trustworthy rescue just to have their data stolen, images of their home given up freely, and out $250.

This is a follow-up to a previous BBB Scam Tracker report concerning BowLift / GT ECOM B.V. I am submitting this update because my experience since the original report has raised additional concerns about the company’s refund practices and an unexpected $29.99 membership charge.
I purchased two AEROCLEAN smokeless ashtrays. Only one arrived, and the one I received was defective. Rather than simply resolving the missing and defective merchandise through a refund or reasonable return process, BowLift has repeatedly asked for information, photographs, video, and other evidence, including information I had already supplied. The company has presented a series of changing refund percentages, store-credit offers, and procedural requirements.
In my experience, this has become what consumer advocates refer to as “administrative sludge” or “refund friction”: repeated questions, duplicated requests, delays, changing requirements, and additional steps that make a relatively straightforward consumer problem increasingly difficult to resolve. At one point BowLift requested video evidence, but later told me that video attachments could not be processed through its review process. It also told me previously submitted photographs were not visible in its photo-validation record.
I also want consumers to be aware of BowLift’s $29.99 VIP membership charge. In my transaction, I did not knowingly request or intend to purchase a membership. I later discovered that membership information appeared in small/fine-print material associated with the website/transaction. I did not see a clear, prominent explanation during my purchase telling me that I was enrolling in a recurring $29.99 membership, what the membership included, or that I would subsequently be charged. The $29.99 charge later appeared on my account. BowLift initially refused to refund it despite the fact that I already had an ongoing dispute with the company and essentially took the position that the charge would stand. After several refusals from BowLift, the $29.99 was ultimately refunded through the payment dispute process.
Consumers purchasing from this company should carefully review every part of the checkout page, receipt, and fine print for membership or recurring-charge language, and should save screenshots and copies of everything.
My concern is not simply one defective product. It is the combination of a missing item, a defective item, repeated refund obstacles, changing resolution offers, and a membership charge that I did not knowingly intend to purchase. I am submitting this follow-up so that BBB and other consumers have a record of these additional developments.

On August 25th I received a postal letter from Charles Harrison, a principal partner Charles Harrison Family Law, asking if I would like to come forward to claim a $11,550,300 life insurance policy deposit for one of his deceased clients, who may be a relative of mine. His letter noted that he has had prior unsuccessful attempts to locate his family members, and said that 10% would go to charity and the remaining 90% shared equally between us. Internet searches with the BBB for due diligence confirmed this to be a scam, so I am reporting it so it can be helpful for others.

I got a text message claiming to be from Apple, saying that I had been charged 200 and something dollars for airpods. When I called the number, the man on the phone said that someone else will call me to help with the "refund". The person proceeded to call me just to hang up instantly.
I do not have my phone number registered with Apple in any way, shape or form so there is no way they could have known to send my number a text message like that.

I get nonstop harassment calls from various numbers all leaving the same message (usually a different caller name used).

I just need to confirm a few details about your current situation before I can go over the applicable terms. Call me at 844-515-1297. Called and gave me my social, address, birth date and told me they were collecting for Walmart in Tiffin, Ohio.
They needed payment or it would escalate to going to court. I said take me to court. They said mam, the calls will

I am a multimedia/graphic designer and recently encountered what I believe was a fraudulent employment recruitment attempt involving an organization called Spotlight Over The City, which presented itself as offering a legitimate remote Graphic Designer position.
1. How and when I was contacted
On August 17, 2026, I was contacted through a comment on my latest work/post on Behance. The person, identified as Jefferson Silva, commented:
“Hi, are you currently employed? Dm me.”
I contacted him through direct message. I was then instructed to contact Spotlight Over The City through its website contact form, as they were supposedly seeking a remote Graphic Designer.
Following this, I received an email from Terri Long, using the email address [email protected]. The email stated that she had received my application for the Remote Graphic Designer position and asked me to provide my resume. She then instructed me to participate in an online interview through Microsoft Teams with someone identified as Mrs. Cheryl Lewis, described as the interview manager.
The email provided the following Microsoft Teams invitation:

I was instructed to send the verification code “SOTC 088” to the Teams contact in order to receive further information about the job.
2. What they asked me to do / information requested
Initially, I was asked to submit my resume and participate in an online interview through Microsoft Teams. I did not provide any banking information, Social Insurance Number, passport, driver's licence, credit-card information, or money.
During the Teams conversation, I was provided with information about the supposed employment and training arrangements. I was told that there would be a 3-day introductory training period, during which I would be online from approximately 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and receive $15.75/hour.
After the training, I was told the position would pay $45/hour, with standard working hours of approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and that I would be paid for a full eight-hour day as long as I remained online during the designated hours, regardless of the volume of work.
The recruitment/interview process appeared highly unusual and unprofessional. During the Teams conversation, I disclosed that I currently work for a newspaper and described my relevant professional experience. Shortly afterward, the individual provided a job briefing and then abruptly stopped communicating with me. The Teams conversation was subsequently deleted from their side, and the individual left the Teams chat without responding to my further messages.
3. Who they claimed to represent
They claimed to represent Spotlight Over The City, which appeared to be a legitimate media/entertainment organization.
At the time, I believed the opportunity could be legitimate because the organization's website appeared established, contained active YouTube content and other information about the organization, and the individuals contacting me appeared to be associated with the organization.
However, the recruitment process raised significant concerns, particularly the unprofessional Teams interview, the unusually high compensation offered, the abrupt termination of communication, and the deletion of the conversation.
I subsequently researched the organization and found information indicating that Spotlight Over The City has previously been associated with an employment scam report, which increased my concern that I had been targeted as part of a fraudulent recruitment operation.
I am submitting this report so that the Canadian authorities can investigate the individuals, communications, websites, social media accounts, and recruitment methods involved and determine whether other job seekers may also be being targeted.
I have retained relevant evidence, including screenshots, emails, the Teams invitation link, the original Behance contact, and the job-related communications.

I was offered a job that required my ID for a background check and a contract signed. The contract required that I do not speak to anyone about the packages I recieve at my home to sort, repackage, and ship out by a specified date. The pay was also strangely high for a remote job. It took me a while to realize it was a scam because they did call and talk to me over the phone. They talk about how they work with overseas businesses as well. Thankfully I did not give my ssn.
