The caller stated that they were attempting to serve me with legal documents and said they could come to my home or workplace to serve the papers. The caller provided the reference/case number 26-001278 and directed me to call 833-388-2763, which I was told was the number for a paralegal regarding the matter. During the first call, the caller asked me to confirm personal information. I confirmed only my address. I did not provide my Social Security number, banking information, or payment information. When communicating with the second number, I was asked to confirm the last four digits of my Social Security number, which they apparently already had available. I did not provide my full Social Security number. The business/law firm name was communicated to me as something that sounded like “Currentian Litigation Group,” although I am not certain of the exact spelling. I became concerned because I was unable to independently verify the alleged legal matter, and the pattern of threatening service at a home or workplace, providing a case/reference number, directing the recipient to a second telephone number, and requesting confirmation of Social Security information resembles reported process-server/debt-collection scams. I am submitting this report to document the phone numbers and circumstances and to help determine whether other consumers have received similar calls.

An AI chatbot responds to the emails I have sent and the customer service is an absolute nightmare. I found the same items I purchased at Emblem on Amazon for a fraction of the price. Same as another guy. In February 2026 I received an email for a cash offer for stock that I own. I filled out the forms and sent in the requested information to the New York Depositary, LLC which posed as a legitimate business. The acceptance form states: “Payment to Shareholder: If you accept the Offer, the amount which will be paid to you, upon terms and subject to the conditions set forth in the Offer to Purchase, is: $6,669.30 Payment is expected to be sent by check within seven business days of our receiving written notice from the Company’s transfer agent of your Shares.” Never received a check. Compushare which administered the Principal shares I held then sent statement dated 7th July 2026 saying I held no shares. All had been transferred. No check has every been received. Scammers.

I applied for a Data Operations position. On their website, it specifically mentioned a Microsoft Teams interview, so the text-base interview didn’t flag as a scam initially + the emails I received had the correct company email address. I was then sent a check of $4201 after completing onboarding paperwork (I9, W2 etc). I cashed this check in-person at my financial institution. Then, i began moving the money from my bank account into Apple Cash to pay for home office supplies. After about $3700 worth of transactions between my bank account and Apple Pay, my bank account started declining. Then, the check bounced the next morning and was returned. Thankfully, I had enough money saved to cover the loss, so as to not incur penalty from my bank. I brought up this issue to the supposed “HR Manager”, who said another check can be expedited to reimburse me, however, I do not feel comfortable cashing in this check due to the above issues. I have already frozen my credit, and opened a new checking account in response to this issue, and notified my local DPS of this issue, since I had to send my driver’s license for I9 verification.

I was targeted over a period of several months by this company called Mexibites which also appears to run this business with the same address, City Juice. They have withdrawn bet $2.50-$3.00 directly from my checking account. I have been to Patelco Credit Union regarding each transactions. At one point I was told it was a direct debit but not with my ATM card, then I was told it was from using my ATM card. I have never been in this establishment or even heard of them. After several attempts with Google and looking with the maps feature I was eventually able to locate a physical address and could see where they are located. My ATM card was replaced once and still this occured. The last charge was July 13, 2026 and so for over 1 month I did not use this card so I could monitor if this would occur again, the entire time the card was in my possession. There was one other transaction prior to these with this particular CU, I had one charge with another CU that I bank with, disputed it and it was cleared and it never happened again with them (Provident CU).
