A man named ***** ****** came to my house on 5.13.25 claiming to be from Omaha Steaks and had made a delivery nearby for someone who over ordered. He said he had a few boxes of steaks he could offer a discount on. He sold us a box what he claimed were USDA Choice steaks for $280. Upon inspection of the product after he left the steaks are actually from a company called Omaha Beef & Seafood (not Omaha Steaks as advertised) and the quality is far below USDA Choice by any stretch of the imagination. All of the steaks also contain 15% "seasoning solution" which means the advertised weight of the meat I purchased is 15% lower than what I thought I was getting. Some of the vacuum sealed steaks are cut and open which gives me significant concerns about quality and safety. I prepared one steak that was sold to me as Filet Mignon and not only is it tough, grey, and chewy, but there's also no way it is even the actual cut of meat advertised. Disgraceful company sales tactics which are clearly designed to trick people into thinking they are buying high quality meat from a reputable company, when in reality the quality of the product is horrendous.
