Description
I am a medical doctor and my patient informed me being contacted by Elite Medical Supplies about providing her back braces. She received a call from a representative (Sara Green) from Elite Medical Supplies at 518-545-5247. She said she was a Medicare provider. My patient was suspicious because she did not contact them beforehand or told by me that they would be contacting her. Sara Green was asked numerous questions about lower back and knee pain. The lady from Elite Medical had all of her insurance, name, birthdate, address, & phone cell information already. She also had my name and office address. At the end of the phone call, patient was told that she is eligible for a brace at no cost and they were calling to verify her information. After the questions confirmation, patient was told that they would contact me the provider. Patient reached out to me to find out if I have initiated this. I did not. However, within a week, I received a fax from Elite Medial Supplies requesting me to sign an "Urgent Prior Authorization Request" for lumbar orthosis with a statement of medical necessity. I tried to call the number 518-545-5247 twice, either disconnected or no one answers. Be ware of Elite Medical Supplies.
