Alibaba’s Fraudulent Practices I am filing this complaint against Alibaba Group Holding Limited for facilitating fraudulent suppliers, failing to protect buyers, and engaging in deceptive trade practices. Due to Alibaba’s negligence, my business, based in Raleigh, North Carolina, has suffered over $26,625 in financial losses. Fraudulent Business Practices & Alibaba’s Role 1?? Non-Delivery of Paid Products: I placed multiple orders on Alibaba’s platform under their Trade Assurance policy, which claims to protect buyers. However, several suppliers failed to fulfill orders, misrepresented products, and falsified shipping records. 2?? Falsified Shipping Records: The supplier provided fraudulent tracking details and marked my order as delivered to a fake address in China to evade tax obligations and avoid responsibility. 3?? Denial of Buyer Protection: Despite clear evidence (unboxing videos, weight discrepancies, supplier messages), Alibaba refused to intervene and instead accused me of purchasing “prohibited” items—even though these products were advertised and sold through their platform. 4?? Ongoing Fraudulent Activity: The same suppliers remain active on Alibaba, continuing to engage in fraudulent business practices. 5?? Repeated Failures to Protect Buyers: This is not the first time I have experienced fraud on Alibaba—I have lost over $26,625 due to multiple fraudulent suppliers operating under their platform. Alibaba’s Violations & Why the BBB Should Take Action ? Allowing Fraudulent Sales – Alibaba permits suppliers to sell misrepresented products while shifting blame to buyers.? Failure to Enforce Trade Assurance – Alibaba advertises buyer protection but fails to uphold its guarantees when fraud occurs.? Deceptive Business Practices – Alibaba permits false shipping records and supplier fraud.? Financial Harm to U.S. Businesses – Alibaba’s negligence has caused severe financial damage to my business, impacting my ability to operate. Requested Action from the BBB I urge the BBB to publish this complaint to warn other businesses and hold Alibaba accountable for fraudulent business practices. Specifically, I request: 1?? A full refund of $26,625+ in financial losses caused by fraudulent suppliers operating under Alibaba.2?? An official response from Alibaba addressing why they failed to enforce their Trade Assurance policy.3?? A record of this complaint in BBB’s database to alert other buyers about Alibaba’s failure to protect its customers. I have detailed evidence, including: ?? Unboxing videos proving missing products.?? Weight reports showing shipment discrepancies.?? Transaction records & supplier messages proving fraud.?? Proof that the supplier shipped to a fake address in China. Company Information ?? Company Name: Alibaba Group Holding Limited?? U.S. Address: 525 Almanor Ave, Suite 600, Sunnyvale, CA 94085, USA?? Global Headquarters: 969 West Wen Yi Road, Yu Hang District, Hangzhou 311121, China?? U.S. Phone Number: +1 (888) 980-8566?? Website: www.alibaba.com I appreciate the BBB’s assistance in making this complaint public and look forward to Alibaba’s response. Best regards, Roya Rahie
