I searched online for a florist in Ocean View, DE so that I could order funeral flowers for a family member who passed away unexpectedly. I live in the Midwest, so I'm not familiar with the florists in that area. Starluck Flowers came up from my search, and they advertised as being "locally owned & operated." I called their 800 number, they confirmed that they could deliver my order in time for the funeral and took my payment information and email address. I immediately received an email confirming my order. 30 minutes later, I received another email stating that they could not deliver my order and that I was being refunded my money. The email also said that I should see the refund within 3 business days. A few minutes later, I received another email confirming my refund. Over a week later, I still have not received a refund, and my bank has no record of a pending refund. So, I checked on the BBB scam tracker, and sure enough, there are complaints from Starluck customers giving the same story as mine. How sad that unscrupulous people have to prey on someone who has just experienced the loss of a family member.
