Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

Insung Cho as an employee of Korean Embassy called and asked for my email address to access Emergency Notice while he is on the phone. I received an email from gmail account, and tried to access 5 docs by entering my Korean SSN. Due to the urgency, they said I'll receive another call from Korea. When a new person from 82-2-3480-2140 called, and asked my name, address and DOB to start communication, I had to stop the call. Discovered: 1) Insung Cho I spoke with is not an employee of Korean Embassy. 2) The link they provided was not an official link from the mentioned government.
