Description

In 2022, I researched Artist Rise and joined after a pushy call with one of Jaroid’s mentors. Despite red flags, including high-pressure sales tactics, I hoped the program would help me achieve my dream of selling my paintings. Unfortunately, my experience—and many others’—proved otherwise. Key Issues Refund Guarantee Violation: Artist Rise promises a refund if participants follow guidelines without making sales within 120 days. Despite meeting the criteria, many artists were denied refunds. Until collective pressure forced Jaroid to pay 3 artists so far. Inflated Metrics: Jaroid claims artists consistently earn $5,000–$10,000 monthly, yet most participants report no significant financial gain. His shifting statements about program results and personal spending further erode credibility. Dishonest Sales Tactics: Jaroid encourages unethical practices, like lying to potential buyers to create false urgency, damaging artists’ reputations. He also changes course prices ($2,000–$4,800) arbitrarily, favoring those who pay upfront over installments. Misleading “Lifetime Access”: Over time, Jaroid redefined “lifetime access” to justify asking for a price of 3800 again. Following protests, he backtracked but showed blatant disregard for earlier promises. Toxic Community Practices: Artists who voiced concerns were removed from the group or silenced, creating a false image of success. A Facebook group, Ex Artist Risers, formed with about 100 members preparing for legal action. Pointless Services: After paying $3,800, I received minimal guidance, such as a one-minute call suggesting I look up three artists online. Twenty of us formed a group to initiate a lawsuit against Artist Rise. The course preys on artists’ aspirations while failing to deliver on its promises. Artist Rise’s unethical practices have left many artists feeling financially strained and disillusioned. Artists deserve honesty, integrity, and support—not manipulation.
