I received a call on my cell phone at 12:42pm On Sept.5, 2024 from " Homeland security". [386-XXX-XXXX] She asked if this was my name, and I answered who is calling? She said "This is agent NAME with Homeland Security. DHS2722. Is this you? I said no. Her- You are lying to a federal agent. Me- I don't believe you, this is a scam. Her- It's not my job to make you believe me. This is serious. are you expecting a package? Me- No. Her-your name is associated with illegal drugs coming into the port of Miami and other international ports. [she named several ports}. This is our case number, 2024FLUS01130. She made me repeat the info given. Do you recognize any of these addresses? [all in Florida] She listed three I knew but said no. Her- Do you have friends or family in Florida? I do but said no. Her- Do you know anyone who might have a grudge against you? Me- No.Do you recognize this address? it was mine , i said it is my home address.Her- do you recognize these bank accounts? She listed several I am active with. I said "some". She told me all the violations I was facing for drug trafficking and what jail time I could serve. I finally said "I'm ending this call, I believe this to be a scam. she kept talking ,so I repeated myself and hung up. I can't believe I even answered the call in the first place , or talked as long as I did. Lesson Learned. I looked up the name she gave me, Lynda Noel.[She spelled it out for me} It came up on LinkedIn as a federal agent for Homeland security! The picture showed a professional black woman, the phone voice was asian.
