In early July, I received a call from Eric, who claimed to work for Contract Cancellation Canada (“CCC”). Eric advised me that the financing party was being changed and that is how CCC became aware of the two contracts I had with Ontario Green Savings company. Eric asked to meet with me to discuss the contracts. On arrival, Eric did not have proper identification. He said he ran out of business cards. During the meeting, Eric asked for permission to pull the parcel register for my home. I agreed. Eric provided me with a copy of the parcel register by email, which showed that two notices of security interest (“NOSI”) appeared on title. The parties that filed the NOSIs are CHiCC. Eric noted that CCC has been representing other OGS customers to help them get out of their OGS contracts. Eric suggested contacting CHiCC for the buyout statements. Eric stated that OGS used false and misleading practices and didn’t fulfill their contract obligations and that is how they were successful in getting OGS customers out of their contracts. I asked how CCC gets paid. Eric’s response was they negotiate half of the buyout with CHiCC and CCC takes a portion of the buyout. I sent an email to CCC on July 11th asking questions. I sent a follow-up email on July 17th. I have not received a response to either of my emails.
