Years ago I purchased a membership to Karisma Prestige Resort a Mexican company to purchased discounted time at a Jamaica resort and it all went well for a decade. Recently, I received an email from "[email protected]" offering an " 20 Anniversary" coupon of 6 nights etc for $2999.99 and I purchased 3 coupons for a discount of $7647,45. I wired the money to a Chase account in LA. It was a SCAM. I have since read where that resort company was split up in 2023 and there was a data leak. Their demeanor, email and knowledge sounded like the real company I had been dealing with for a decade. I guess the part about wiring the money should have tipped me off.
