Went to Algotels website to book a room at the Warwick Hotel in NYC. Received a confirmation and my credit card was immediately charged for the one night cost, plus fees, of $445. I called the Warwick to confirm reservation and they never received any notice from Algotels regarding my reservation. Warwick also confirmed they had zero availability for that night anyway and would have not approved the reservation. Warwick Hotel has never heard of Algotels and does not do business with them. Called Algotels to research what was going on and received an email and a call they would contact the Warwick Hotel immediately to remedy the situation. Both callers on the support line and who called me back spoke very little English which sent up a yellow flag. Called Warwick Hotel back later in the day and they never spoke, or received a message, from anyone from Algotels to remedy. Next morning I saw multiple charges on my credit card for penny amounts ($.01, $.08, $.75) I did not recognize, so I shut down that credit card. Looking online I see multiple complaints about Algotels regarding a similar situation. Contacted Algotels to let them know I cancelled the transaction and was disconnected (hung up on).
