A fake Facebook account was used within my Neighborhood Facebook private group. The account posted a group discount for air duct and HVAC inspection and cleaning and dryer vent cleaning and requested us to private message him for details. The services offered: "Alright according to your 1 unit house the price will be $299 for the whole package What's Include In This Package: * Using a Negative Pressure Machine. * Unlimited supply vents cleaning. Inspection of intake vents * *Inspection OF AC unit * Inspection For The Dryer. * Inspection Of Mold But he gives me a special $100 group rate discount so it will be just $199 for the complete package." I gave my address and phone number. A 919 area code phone number ( 919-918-0223) texted me for appointment on Monday 4/21 from 1p to 3p. On Monday, the Facebook account (Curtis Gaul) private messaged me to see if i had received my services yet. After 3p i texted the 919 number back and asked when they were coming. A 662 area code number (662-491-2214) called me back and said 430p. They showed up around 5p in a beat up truck with no logo and no business cards with thick Israeli accents and dirty clothes and shoes. They said they couldn't do negative air pressure because my vents are on the floor but for$679 they do sanitize and clean my air ducts. They brought with them dirty beat up Ryobi brand equipment that they had to plug into my wall to charge the battery. They took a drill with what looked like a handmade 6 foot extender with a ball and 5 rubber spikes on the end. They pushed it through the ducts, squirted some water looking stuff they claimed was "sanitizer" and used a beat up Shop Vac to vacuum out the vent. They left dirt and debris everywhere they walked and worked, didnt offer to move anything out of the way of the vents, knocked over furniture and spilled water on my floor. That was the end of the service that took a little over an hour. They offered nothing else and wated their money. I write a check and they left and it dawned on me that something was amiss. I Facebook messaged the original "neighbor" and they never answered. Then, all his posts were deleted on the Facebook page.i called the 669 number and told them i had been scammed and asked for their website. The website had dummy text on it and i told the guy on the phone that. Long story short, i stopped the payment on the check and closed that bank account. Now this man has been sending me harassing text messages and phone calls threatening me in poor English.... there is no way this is a legitimate business. This was someone on Facebook baiting people with a fake account, telling someone to go the homes of whomever would fall for it and switch up the offer and information shared by the fake Facebook account.
