Out of the blue received a call with a phone number and reference number. Called Jackson, Avery law firm. Told EZMoney was a loan from 2013 sent to collections in 2015 but not listed on any credit report. A little over $1000 in interest at 24.99% for 2 years. Then told I could pay $1600 over 16 months or $500 today. Refused to send any collection letter or documentation. Stated I could get it in court. Avery said he had worked for the company for 6 years and most of the loans they were mitigating were from 2013 sent to collections in 2015. Advised him the documentation he sent via email did not constitute a notice of debt or intent to collect. Stated they had my address so why wouldn't a legitimate collections attempt be made at the phone number or address I've had for years. Stated it was not his job to send anything nor could he verify even the original debt amount or place of loan origination. Personally believe this is a scam.
