I was contacted though text message on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 Sharon Levi from Fenecon GmbH. She offered to set up an interview. I was then told to download Zoom in order to have the interview. The interview occurred with HR manager Ms. Julia Riedl for over an hour with me answering questions through Zoom text messaging. I never talk to anyone personally other than through text. After about a 30 min wait I was told that they were offering me a remote position for Data Entry Representative. I was then told I would be receiving checks in order to buy working equipment that would be needed for the job and that I was to check in with her everyday at 8:00AM through Zoom texting and let her know when the checks arrived. She provided more information about the company and what I would be doing and the training. I received the checks Friday, March 15. She again Zoomed with me today, Saturday, March 16 and wanted me to deposit the checks. I only deposit my checks remotely and because the amount of the checks was higher than what my bank will accept through a remote deposit, the check did not deposit. I then told her that I would have to mail the checks to the bank for deposit. My bank is in another state from where I live. She agreed that I should do that. In the mean time, I decided that I should go ahead and just open a bank account with a local bank, but I that I would not be able to do that until Monday. After some hesitation, she agreed to this. I have not contacted a bank as of yet. Things just sound too suspicious, especially after reading about similar scams. I am not sure what I should do at this point.
