Description
This person posed as "Sue from Dream Vacation Rentals" (which is a legit rental agency) and provided a link to a legitimate VRBO listing. They communicated via email rather than in the VRBO portal and asked for a direct bank transfer for the deposit. They provided an emailed contract that appeared to be from VRBO. Now we have discovered that this company doesn't exist and Dream Vacation Rentals confirms we do not have a reservation and that these kinds of scams happen often.
