Description
Offer of a work-at-home job with paid training and then an increase after training to work 30 hours a week. Offer letter received and signed, I-9 signed and 2 identifications sent (driver's license and SS card). They wanted me to start immediately, this was a Thursday, but I said I would start on Monday, December 11th. Even though I stated I would start on a Monday, Denver Morgan said I talk to you at 8 am on Friday. I did not respond and told him Monday was the agreed date. On Monday morning I was immediately told to purchase an iPhone 14 Pro Max 256 GB from AT&T or Verizon and to request a post-paid account and to not take the phone out of the box. I did this but the phone was placed in my name, not the company's name but I was under the impression that they would pay the bill, as stated. But thinking for a moment, because the phone was in my name they had no obligation. However, when I hit the chat and told them I had the phone and asked what was next, they wanted me to send them the phone, FedEX, today. I told them that I was capable of downloading any software that needed to be put on the phone but was met with opposition and it was stressed that I needed to send the phone. I was also told that I would be receiving a check by email for my expenses. I told them my bank does not accept emailed checks and I was not sending the phone.
