This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.
I called Hewlett Packard for my monthly warranty printer clean-up and checkup. I paid them $549.99 by check on June 12, 2023. I was advised by Hewlett Packard that the $549.99 I paid for my Warranty was NOT paid to the legitimate Hewlett Packard. It was a scam from Wells Fargo Bank according to Bank of America. I am therefore out $549.99. Bank of America cannot recover the funds because Wells Fargo Bank would not respond to their request. Bank of America closed my case.
