Someone pretending to be a neighbor in a Facebook community group posted something beginning with "Hey Neighbors! I am getting my air vents/dryer vent cleaned by Peter Mossor on October. Would anyone else in the community like to join me and get the group rate? We need at least 5 people to get the group rate." When I searched for that name, I found the exact same post in Facebook groups nationwide advertising air vent, dryer vent, duct, and chimney cleaning. There are many articles online about this type of scam being posted in Facebook groups. One of our Facebook group members gave the scammer their address and phone number. I caught the scam in time and reported it so the post was taken down before the scammer could do more harm.
