Description
To Whom This May Concern: I was in a car accident on 5/15/2023, on I-26 heading East, between Columbia, SC and Charleston, SC. I googled a Towing Company on the Google search, and the "24/7 towing service LLC" populated up at the top of my search. I called the “towing company” and was told they could send a driver/tow- truck and it would take 30-45 minutes. Due to the time of day: 7:00pm, and the mileage to tow my vehicle, (about 110 miles) it would be $1,699. As I was in a dangerous situation, and needed help with a tow-truck, I gave them my credit card number. About 30 minutes later, I realized this was fraudulent; no one was coming, I called the phone number back and no one answered, additionally Barclays JetBlue Mastercard credit card company alerted me of the Fraud. I called Barclays JetBlue Mastercard credit card company immediately and reported the fraud activity and to not allow the payment. My credit card was cancelled, and I was reissued a new one. I called Barclays JetBlue Mastercard credit card company back the next day 5/16/2023, to make sure the charges were reported, and I wouldn't be charged. I was told the hold of $1,699 was released, and the case was being turned over to the fraud department. This was the last I had heard of this matter until 7/25/2023. I looked over my credit card statement and saw the charge for $1,699 on there. I investigated it, and saw that Barclays JetBlue Mastercard credit card company, posted the charge on 7/18/2023. I called Barclays JetBlue Mastercard credit card company immediately, on 7/25/2023 and spoke to three different people, over the course of two hours. I was told the case would be reopened, but that the fraud department investigated the case, and determined I am responsible for the charges. I have not received an invoice from the “24/7 towing company.” This is a SCAM. There were no services rendered. Come to find out, the “company” is in California. Again, I am in South Carolina. Overview of my experience: The towing company said that they work with your insurance company, they take your policy number, took my AAA information, and aid that it will be covered—however you have to pay them upfront as a security for the driver, assurance of using their company, and they abuse your current situation. When I spoke to State Farm and AAA, and realized there was no communication from the 24/7 towing company, I cancelled right away and dispatch wasn't even there yet. (In total, I was on the side of the road over five hours. They cussed at me, on the phone and hung up on me. I tried to call back and I was blocked- how is this a legitimate company? Employees sound like they are in a call center where it is very loud. They are rude, unhelpful, and disrespectful. They have one motive: to steal your money and as this is not a legitimate company, there are no services to be rendered. There are also multiple phone numbers for this "company." • 415-403-2985: Automated Text I received on 5/15/2023. • 855-256-1334: Phone number I received from Barclays JetBlue Mastercard credit card company, on 7/25/2023, stating from the Barclay’s employee, that was the company's phone number, the fraud department has on file. • 909-809-5324: Phone number on the "invoice" to call. • There is not a legitimate mailing address, phone number or email address to reach these people. • • Please see the photos I have below: • Photo 1: Screenshot of the “invoice.” The mailing address is incomplete. It's not even a real address and does not have the city on there. • Photo 2: Fraud Alert from Barclays JetBlue Mastercard credit card company - to which I called immediately to report as fraud and stop payment. • Photo 3: Screenshot showing the charge date (5/15/2023) and then the post date (7/18/2023) from Barclays JetBlue Mastercard credit card company: • Photo 4: The phone number Barclays JetBlue Mastercard credit card company provided to me, that that is the phone number they had for the towing company. I called on 7/25/2023and was yelled at by a woman, insulted, hung up on, then blocked. I cannot call that number back from my cell phone: 843-709-1781. How is that a business? Let alone a company if I cannot call them back and get blocked (cancelled call)? • Photo 5: Another phone number, from an "automated text" from the towing company. I have attempted to file a claim with the Better Business Bureau, and based on the address information provided by this “towing company,” I cannot even complete the claim, as there is no city or address:
