There is a person who is uploading videos on Youtube and is advertising an unlock tool for a video game. In the video he invites you to enter his Discord channel. Discord is a type of social media platform where you can discuss more about the digital products being offered. Essentially what this person will do, is take payment and then go into your Call of duty account and unlock all items that the game offers. There are 2 ways of going through with the purchase, 1- you can go to his discord channel, connect with the individual and pay him through cashapp. The second way is to go to his website and simply enter your credit card information and submit your order. I unfortunately did both. I went on his website- purchased the product and then reached out to him to advise that my account was for a Play station 5 and not on PC (apparently the code only works for pc if you purchase online) none of which is stated on the website. After I asked for a refund he said he would do so. He even sent me an email stating that my amount would be refunded. I told him that once that amount gets refunded in my acct I would reach back out and simply pay him through the cashapp. He said ok. He reached out to me the following day and asked if my amount was back on my card. I said not yet. He said, ok, just checking. At this point I felt like why bother waiting any longer as he seemed genuine about my refund and didn't ask for anything else. I then told him, let's go ahead and do it not and I will just cashapp you the money. He said ok. All of this communication is taken place through the Discord website. As soon as I sent him payment, he confirmed he received it and then immediately he blocked me and cut all forms of communication. The entire message thread was all gone as well. I purchased his Unlock all tool for $70, twice. First time through a credit card on his website, (still waiting a refund on that) but doubt I will get anything back. Through my credit card company **** I retrieved this information: Merchant ID 262-489-2303 Address of 121 North St Elmwood park NJ 07407 In my credit card purchase I did have to provide my home address and name in the scammers website. I reported both purchases to **** and to Cashapp. **** told me to wait to see if the refund comes through but that not much could be done if it doesnt. Cashapp is reviewing and will advise by 3/17. The problem is that he continues to post videos on youtube and many more are getting scammed. I've also reported this to youtube and they too are reviewing.
