Description
Agent reached out to my by phone and leaves a voicemail about my Marriott Vacation Club bonus weeks expiring. I call back and they explain they are selling the Interval Bonus Weeks I have available to me and never use. I basically pay the 399 fee for these rentals upfront (up to 6 first year and 10 units the second year) and they rent them out to their corporate event partner and have them send me a check for $1800 (said check doesn't come from them but from their Corporate customer in form a cashiers check or wire transfer). Did not feel right and seemed a little suspect, so I called Interval to ask they they have a fraud alert posted on their website about this tactic which violates their agreement/policies. There are reports online of people payment the fee and the company disappearing (the numbers disconnected and not longer work right after) and the victim never receives their money. I'm glad a resisted and did my homework before giving them any payment info. I don't need this headache. I did record my calls with them so I had a record of it and what they were promising. Be cautious! If it sounds too good to be true, it probably something to be concerned with.
