My aging (80+) father watched a very convincing deepfake video of Bill Gates claiming that a honey-based Swedish supplement, supposedly manufactured by Gates in Japan, could reverse Alzheimer’s disease. He was unable to locate the video afterward. The product appears to be sold through multiple affiliates using an ongoing subscription model, at approximately $350 for a six-month supply. The marketing also creates artificial scarcity, with claims such as, “We only make this available twice a year.” The website falls apart very quickly (generic links to unrelated Alzheimer research, no discloser of the product’s ingredients, no supplemental link to the research). Clearly a scam targeting the elderly. No product, drug, or supplement, real or otherwise, has been received as of this date. I have advised my father to request a full refund under the company’s advertised money-back guarantee and to notify his bank that the transaction appears to be associated with a scam and to block any future charges from the vendor.
