Description

I received a series of calls, one right after another. I don’t typically answer unknown callers but because it said Bank of Texas and they continued to call I finally answered. The first person was a woman who identified herself as Cheryl Smith and she gave an employee ID of SD1514. She told me that someone in Michigan was applying for several credit cards in my name. She then transferred me to Michael Washington who confirmed what Cheryl had reported and said his number was 720-460-9337, ext 8142. After a few minutes I finally realized this was very strange. It was very sophisticated and I hung up. I then called my two credit card companies. They both confirmed no suspicious activity. I had one locked and the other replaced.
