Description
I was looking for house rentals and saw this company’s page on FaceBook. I found two properties that I was interested in. I was told to send a Direct Message about any property I would like to see. The person sent me an application on Messenger, which I filled out and sent back. I was then told to pay $70 for the application fee, which could be sent via Venmo or other online payment options, in order to schedule tours of these properties. So, I sent a message back, listing the two property addresses that I was interested in, asking to be sure they were still available and if October was a possibility for moving in. I was assured that they were both still available. The person then sent a DM with her personal Venmo information and an access code. It was then that I asked about a website I could look up. I was told that their website was being updated by IT, in order to allow debit/credit cards to be used. This made me skeptical. So, I went to both properties. The first property, tenant was ready to move, but said the landlord already had it rented beginning in October. The 2nd property was occupied and not available for rent. The tenant said this was not the first time her landlord had this problem with someone trying to say the property was for rent. Obviously, someone was stealing property information and trying to pass it of as their own company’s rental.
