I was targeted in a YouTube ad for a service that supposedly allows you to compare various car insurance quotes to locate the cheapest one. I entered mine and my husband's information but at the end of the form submission was not provided with actual quotes, but rather just links to various insurers to then have to fill out another form for an insurance quote on the insurer's website, which I could've just done to begin with without needing this third party provider. Since submitting our information, my husband's phone and email have been blowing up incessantly with solicitation from every single insurer imaginable, with some of them calling multiple times in a row without us having explicitly given consent to each insurer to be contacted. This third-party provider just sold our information to these insurers without actually delivering the insights they were advertising. Effectively, it was false advertising and very frustrating to now be bombarded with solicitation attempts.
