I saw a YouTube advertisement from USBEST1.com offering portable 32 TB storage drives at an extremely low price. The advertisement claimed the low price resulted from import/export or stranded-shipment problems and emphasized that only a limited number remained. I paid a total of $65 for three drives. The package arrived with three devices and cables, but none of the drives functioned or provided usable storage when connected to my computer. The products appear to be counterfeit, defective, or materially different from what was advertised. I contacted the seller and requested a full refund. The seller offered only a 50% refund while allowing me to keep the unusable products, or a “gift” selected from a different website. I rejected both options and requested a full refund, offering to return the products if the seller provided a prepaid, trackable return label. I opened a dispute through PayPal and submitted the advertisement, product listing, refund policy, emails, and other supporting evidence. I also reported the advertisement to Google and submitted a report to the FTC. Consumers should be extremely cautious about advertisements offering implausibly large-capacity storage devices at unusually low prices. Save the advertisement and all transaction records, and test any storage device before trusting it with important data.
