Description
The message was forwarded to me by another individual for reporting and awareness purposes. A phone call was received on January 16, 2026, at approximately 5:40 PM from (939) 739-4097. The caller falsely claimed to represent T-Mobile. Carrier lookup indicates the number operates as a VoIP line under Level 3 / Level 3 Latin American Solutions, LLC and is not a wireless number. The call appears consistent with phone company impersonation and social-engineering fraud. The recipient contacted was (787) 929-0086). No financial loss occurred. Actions taken: I have reported the situation to Level 3 / Level 3 Latin American Solutions, LLC, and FTC. Public warning: Phone company impersonation scams often use VoIP numbers to appear legitimate. Do not share verification codes, account information, or personal details with unsolicited callers claiming to represent mobile carriers. Hang up and contact your carrier directly using an official number.
