I applied for a position with “Luxe Consult Solutions” that was posted on LinkedIn. The following day, I received an email stating that my application had already moved on to the “next phase” of the hiring process, despite there being no interview, phone screening, or prior communication. The email instructed me to complete a “free identity verification” using an external website link, with an alternate Google Form provided. This raised concerns, as legitimate employers do not request identity verification or sensitive personal information at such an early stage of the hiring process. Due to the rapid advancement in the hiring process, lack of any direct interaction with a recruiter, and the request to verify my identity through third-party links, I believe this is a scam intended to collect personal information from job applicants.
