Description
I was contacted via text message by an individual who claimed to have received my phone number from Accenture’s hiring team. This person stated that she was representing a company called GrowthMarketingPro and offered me a job opportunity. She explained that, under normal circumstances, new hires were required to purchase $100 worth of cryptocurrency to begin work, but that this requirement would be waived for me. I was told that after completing five days of work, I would be paid $800. I completed the assigned tasks over the five-day period, and a payment initially appeared to be deposited into my account. However, the funds were immediately withdrawn, along with additional fees, leaving my account with a negative balance of approximately $980. When I reached out to the company’s customer support, I was informed that I needed to bring my account current but was assured that I would be reimbursed for the funds that were removed. This has not occurred, and I believe I was the victim of a fraudulent job or investment scheme.
