Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

Received a letter in the mail saying as a Michigan resident I have been chosen to receive a "Complimentary Mackinac Island Vacation which includes 3 Days and 2 Nights hotel accommodations for two adults and two children and $150 in spending money". It left a phone number (906-208-9803) and a business address that is actually a restaurant (32901 Middlebelt Road, Ste 700, Farmington Hills, MI 418334). There is no email address or website, but the letter is signed by a "Libby Jones, Promotional Coordinator". It includes the typical scam identifiers like typos and encouragement to call immediately. I never called the number, so I am unsure what they request from people, but I suspect personal information. Picture attached
