Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

Two new iPhone's were ordered through our Xfinity Mobile account without our knowledge or approval. I was contacted by Bryan Adams who used the scam phone number as listed. He described himself as being from the Xfinity fraud team. He knew that two packages were shipped with the phones to our house address. Fortunately, I called Xfinity directly and received return labels for the phones. However, Bryan called saying that the labels I was given was incorrect and that I should use the one's he would provide. His label was through the U.S. Postal Service and not Fedex that originally delivered the packages. Also, his email was sent to spam. The address on his label was the one I provided. According to Google maps it is for an apartment in NJ. Overall it was a very sophisticated scam. I'm still not sure how they knew about my conversation with Xfinity Mobile customer service. I'll use the address labels as provided by Xfinity customer service to return the phones that I never ordered.
