I got an email on the 28th of November from someone named Jessica Gilham who is supposedly a HR Assistant from Velocity Sciences Inc they requested my resume for a Data Entry Clerk position which are some of the positions I’ve been applying for on Linkdin and other Job boards I tried looking her up Linkdin got nothing so I looked up the company on Linkdin found them went under people only 1 person was listed under the organization and it was a Bruce Kneller which made me suspicious but they had a company website linked I pressed and it took me no where but I answered the email provided them with my resume the answered me back and had me do an assessment and a employee form in Microsoft Office where the asked for my name email phone number and what bank I use no account numbers or other information just the name of the banking institution I completed all of this on the 28th then today I get an email with an offer letter which looked fine but what officially made think it’s a scam was when they said they were going to mail me a check to obtain a personal license for the software data. Obtaining the license isn’t a problem it’s mailing a check for that purpose which I knew a was a common scam for potential employers mail a check to purchase ‘equipment’ even though this check is for a ‘personal licence’ so to speak it’s a scammy thing for an employer to do so I don’t think any of this is legitimate so I’m reporting them and I tried to call the company they have no working number and the only way I could find the company website is through the email with the so called HR assistant.
