Description

On August 9th, I signed up for the free trial of the Fabulous app through the Apple App Store. I used the app briefly and decided it was not a good fit, so I canceled the free trial on August 22nd—well before any renewal date. I did not agree to or sign up for any additional services. Months later, I discovered that the company had been charging me for multiple subscriptions I never knowingly enrolled in, including a “coaching” subscription and a “bundle” subscription. I had no knowledge these plans existed, never used them, and absolutely never consented to them. I immediately contacted the company, and they admitted they would only refund the most recent charge, refusing to return the rest of the unauthorized charges. This left me with many charges still taken without my consent. I am currently disabled, undergoing extensive medical treatment, and relying solely on disability benefits. These unauthorized charges caused significant and unnecessary financial harm. After researching online, I discovered countless other customers reporting the exact same experience—being enrolled in multiple paid subscriptions without understanding or consenting to them. This appears to be a pattern of deceptive and predatory billing practices. To protect myself, I have: filed a fraud report with my bank, canceled my credit card to prevent further unauthorized charges, filed a report with Apple, who hosts the app, and submitted warnings in consumer reviews. And now, I am filing this formal complaint with the BBB. I am seeking a full refund as these charges were incurred without clear consent, without transparent disclosure, and in violation of fair billing standards. This issue is well-documented across online reviews and user complaints, and easily verifiable. Thank you for your time and assistance in resolving this matter.
