Type of Scam: Online Social Media Giveaway / Prize Scam Platform: Instagram Description of the Issue: I am reporting an Instagram account that appears to be running a deceptive giveaway. The account @negaryousefii1 promotes daily “$200 cash giveaways” and claims there will be an “iPhone 17 and gold jewelry giveaway at the end.” To enter, users are told they must follow a long list of unrelated accounts—specifically every account the influencer follows. This is a known tactic for fraudulent engagement-growth schemes and appears designed to artificially inflate follower counts. The giveaways are presented as legitimate and guaranteed prizes, yet there is no transparency, no rules or terms, and no evidence that winners are ever selected or prizes delivered. The promotional style and daily high-pressure stories strongly suggest a misleading or fraudulent sweepstakes intended to attract followers under false pretenses. Why I believe this is a scam: 1- Users must follow dozens of unrelated accounts to enter, which aligns with known social-media manipulation schemes. 2- The influencer advertises large cash prizes and an unreleased iPhone model (“iPhone 17”) without any proof that the giveaways are real. 3- No official rules, disclosures, or legally required sweepstakes information are provided. 4- The account uses aggressive daily stories to pressure users to enter, which is typical of scam or fraudulent prize promotions.
