This scam may or may not be related to my reported scam call from "Nancy @ National Associates" that you have listed as a verified scam from a 469 area code caller. I'm getting calls almost daily now from some person bogusly leaving me messages claiming I'm about to lose out on "thousands of dollars in my benefits package" so I was just googling the phone numbers to see if "my benefits package" scammers & "my nonexistent debt that they can help me resolve" scammers were related in some way, and if they were just trying a diff tactic since I wasn't responding. When I entered the 469 number it showed me BBB Scam info for Nancy. I haven't responded to any of these calls & I won't ever, but I will try to upload the call transcript with the originating phone numbers below. All of these calls have come in within the 3-4 weeks, after I received 2 calls back to back one night that were listed as originating in Nigeria. I answered the 2nd call to tell them to stop waking me up and the man who answered kept asking if I was ______ and trying to get me to say "yes". I worked for the postal service years ago & our inspectors were investigating a big credit card fraud case involving Nigerian scammers so I hung up right away without confirming my name. A week later I got a notice mailed to my home from a well known bank stating that someone had used my name to try to open an account online and that it did not get approved because they couldn't verify that it was me (it wasn't). It just seems to be an odd coincidence that "Nancy at National Associates" is calling on the heels of the Nigeria calls and the bank application. The other calls claiming that I'm about to lose that big benefit package are from Haley Cooper (United Benefits Bureau), Haley Thompson (the Assistance office) , and Rachel Cooper (also using "the Assistance office). I have no idea if the scams are related or not. They call from diff 888/855/866 numbers but say in the messages to call 833-867-3774 to opt out. If they were legitimate calls they wouldn't even mention that- you'd have to be nuts to opt out of "thousands of dollars that can be used to buy groceries, fuel, and utilities". And they claim " the benefits will only be available for a short time under the current program" so they are desperately "trying to reach me so I don't miss out on my benefits". They're much more believable sounding than Nancy. They never say "federal, government, or state" in referencing the "financial benefits assistance program" but it seems implied heavily. I thought it was funny that I received one call during the government shut down. No government related agency would have been reaching out then. They also don't try to link the benefits to any verifiable gov agency like Unemployment, Welfare, TANF, Social Security, SNAP, or Medicare/Medicaid. I keep saying "they" but I'm assuming that Haley, Haley, and Rachel are the same Cooper-Thompson person. She's very persistent. For some reason my phone isn't attaching the file to send below so I'll just copy/paste it here. Also, your system is running the text all together here.
