Scam information

This content is based on victim and potential victim accounts. Government agencies and legitimate business names and phone numbers are often used by scam artists to take advantage of people.

Description

I was contacted via text saying they had reviewed my profile on indeed and thought I would be a perfect candidate for the position. They wanted to set up an interview. After telling them my availability for an interview would be next week, I continued to receive messages asking if I had Microsoft Teams. They continued that the interview was now. via teams. They did not ask interview questions but promoted the "job" and sent an application to be completed which asked for bank information. I asked questions trying to clarify exactly who I would be working for and what I would be doing. They responded with vague answers, saying Agency Z directly. They said they wanted me to purchase specific equipment through the Apple store and would send me money to do so. I have documented the teams conversation with screenshots if that would be helpful.
