Description
Mailer arrived as what looks like a check/official document (you have to tear off 3 tabs to open). For the return address, it says "Re: XXXXXXXXXXX" where XXXX is the name of your lender from a recent loan. The address itself is a PO Box. You'll think it's from your lender because no one knows their lender's address offhand. Opening the mailer, it starts by listing your county, the closing date of your loan, the amount, and your lender name. It lists your name, and a (made-up) Mortgage ID # that looks official. Then it uses your full name, and says "We have been trying to reach you regarding a matter of importance as it relates to your mortgage. Please call 1-833-408-1597. Thank you". There's some very tiny fine-print on the back, but even that print makes little mention of anything other than trying to urge you even more to call with statements like "The notice you are receiving is urgent in nature due to the time-sensitivity in protecting your mortgage." I'm usually pretty careful about scams and this one almost had me calling them because it continually used the name of my lender everywhere, showed no sign of being any other company, and coincidentally I've had issues recently in with this lender not being able to reach me during the loan application process. Someone needs to close this company and its unethical practices down.
