On Instagram I took a IQ test. To get the results you had to pay a $1. Okay no biggie. Paid with PayPal so I thought I’d be safe. A week later I receive an email from PayPal stating a $29.99 payment was made to this company myIQ. I emailed them and they told me I had a subscription and didn’t cancel a trial period in time and I could cancel but still had to pay for 10/18/2025-11/18/2025. Mind you this was on the 19th when I caught it. I told them I was unaware I was in any trial for any subscription. That I didn’t need use of their site nor did I want it, please reverse the charges. They said no per policy. So I disputed with PayPal. They denied in 5 minutes. So I appealed. And that was just denied, even though I caught this scam on day 1. Used no services. I asked PayPal so I’m supposed to be out $30 to pay for use of a site for the next month that I won’t be using and don’t want to? This is their scam. No one is aware they are entered into this trial and subscription. So you can cancel going ahead, but they still get the first month from you and everyone else. And the payment services that are there to protect us. Won’t. I’ve had PayPal for 18 years. Not once have I ever disputed any charge. And I use it several times a month for ordering supplies for my business. Years ago I had a domain on go daddy. I didn’t know that plans were automatically set to auto renew at the end of the year. Well this happened and as soon as the payment email came through, I contacted them telling them I was unaware of the automatic auto renew setting and I no longer needed this domain. Know what they did? Reversed the charge and cancelled for me. Why? Good customer service from a legit company and you are paying up Front for future services. So I hadn’t used those yet. Same situation here as far as you are paying for future services so if it’s caught day 1, and they were honest, why not reverse the charge? Because it’s deceptive and a scam!
